Wroclaw University of Science and Technology is the leading scientific and educational centre in Poland. Wroclaw University of Science and Technology is an inheritor of the tangible property of the German University Königliche Technische Hochschule Breslau, and also the intellectual and scientific heritage of Lviv Polytechnic. The University, as Wroclaw University of Technology, has been operating since 1945. Its creators and organizers were scientists from Lviv and Warsaw. From the very beginning it was an important centre of technical education. The Chair of Metal Forming and Metrology is engaged in the activities referring to analyzing, designing and optimizing of forming processes technology that concern defining of:
– local values of strain, stress, temperature, force, and load of tools,
– fracture and folding of formed material,
– properties of deformed products,
– optimal shape of semi-finished product and slug,
– elastic deformation of tools and products for the tools correction,
– thermal and dynamic load of the tool,
– wear and failure of the tools,
– determination of boundary conditions,
– optimization parameters of processes.
The equipments being in Department give the possibility to optimize the manufacturing processes on the designing stage what is the base of processes efficiency.
